Introduction

Hello everyone!

My name is Verónica Jiménez Alburquerque. Two years ago, I finished a Bachelor's degree in English Studies. I did it at Murcia University and at Queen Mary University of London with the Erasmus+ grant. After that, I went to Ireland where I lived for two years and did a Master's degree in Conference Interpreting with English, French and Spanish as my working languages. I am currently doing a Mater's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Máster en Formación del Profesorado para ESO, Bachillerato, Formación Profesional y Escuela de Idiomas con especialidad en Lengua Extranjera (inglés)) at Miguel Hernández University.

Languages, interpreting and teaching have always been my passion. As I already have experience as a teacher, I know that this is the career I want to pursue. My goal is to work as an English teacher at Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, since I prefer teaching adults. Furthermore, I could teach English at all levels, that is, beginner, intermediate and advanced, whereas at Secondary School (ESO and Bachillerato) English teaching is more limited.

Idioms and Proverbs in English is a personal blog whose aim is to enrich the lexicon of those students at C1 level at Escuela Oficial de Idiomas. In this blog, content related to English idioms and proverbs can be found. When there are not equivalent expressions in Spanish, I will explain what they mean and when they are used. Although this blog targets the aforementioned group, it can be very useful for anyone interested in learning idioms and proverbs in English, regardless of their level.

Get ready and enjoy!
